5 Spring Trends from the LookBooker Fashion Week Wrap Up Event

In my non-expert opinion, the most ingenious, successful companies are the ones that make everyone slap themselves on the forehead and say, “Of course! Why didn’t I think of that?!”The idea is so logical it seems simple, but this couldn’t be less true.

Founded by friends and co-workers Renee Robbie and Giorgia Rossi while working at global management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, LookBooker was born out of the realization that while we can book flights, make hotel accommodations, and reserve rental car pick-ups online, the majority of the 1.3 million beauty-related companies in the U.S. still use the phone and pen to paper to schedule appointments for their clients. LookBooker partners with hundreds of companies in NYC (though expanding in the near future), giving interested individuals the opportunity to scroll through dozens of services, price points, reviews and locations–eliminating the need to open 20 web browsers, search for what you need, only to then realize that the place is closed and you can’t book your appointment.

Think of it like Kayak for the beauty industry.

Check out this UK Huffington Post article for a great Q&A with Renee and Giorgia and the beautiful, super user-friendly LookBooker website for more info.

So, when I learned that LookBooker was hosting a New York Fashion Week wrap up event last week, I knew I’d want to scope it out! And I’m really glad I did. Keep reading to see what I learned from stylist Ammon Carver, makeup guru Danielle Vincent, and Director of Wink Brow Bar, Umbreen Shaik.

(While enjoying the complimentary IMG_2306champagne at Ammon Carver’s Manhattan salon, I may have texted various groups of girlfriends to say that I had become Carrie Bradshaw.)

The night was centered on fashion and beauty trends that popped up during New York Fashion Week and I’ll list them below along with a link to a tutorial if you want to try out the look!

  1. Graphic eyeliner

5. Geometric brows (this one must be extra cutting edge because I could not find a good tutorial!)

Bring on spring. Thanks for reading and thanks LookBooker for a great event!
