A Beginner’s Guide to PCA Skin Care

I’ve preached about PCA skin care all over my social media and real life for years now, and I thought it would be helpful to share a little more about the company, what makes their products so special, and what I (a non-expert but dedicated consumer) would recommend for the first few products to try!

Literally any time my girlfriends have been like, “Ugh, my skin is so dry.” I say: “Omg, PCA has this thing…” or “I have fine lines showing up everywhere.” I say: “I tried this thing from PCA…” It’s gone on like that for a long time now.

So what is PCA skin care and why can’t I stop talking about it?

In layman’s terms, PCA is a medical-grade skin care line. That means you won’t ever find it at some of our favorite places like Target, Sephora, etc. The ingredients in their products do exist in other skin care lines, but theirs include much higher and more potent concentrations. That means more dramatic results much faster and with less product. You can read more about PCA’s story here.

If you were going to try a few things to start, what would you recommend?

This is kinda tricky because your PCA products should be tailored very specifically to your skin’s unique history and needs. They have something for every concern on earth, for real. I’m going to share what I started out with. For reference: I’m 32 years old and my skin concerns are dryness, fine lines (smile lines and creasing between my brows) unevenness (from picking at pimples which has left me with some dull surface scarring) and I always want more elasticity and bounce to my skin.

I started my regimen with:

  1. The Creamy Cleanser
  2. The Daily Exfoliant
  3. The Nutrient Toner
  4. Rejuvenating Serum
  5. Exlinea Peptide Smoothing Serum

My cousin Jess is a super passionate and knowledgeable PCA consultant and aesthetician, so she’s been the one guiding me in the right products for my skin. Other products she’s recommended that I’ve tried and loved are:

  1. Hyaluronic Boosting Serum
  2. Apres Peel Balm
  3. C&E Advanced Strength (this stuff resurfaced my skin like a mini microderm treatment. I used this only 1-2 times a week at night)
  4. Daily Moisturizer with SPF 50
  5. Ideal Complex Revitalizing Eye Gel

I’ll be the first to say out right that this skin care line is an investment–the price tags are higher than what you’ll find in the general market so if this doesn’t work for you and your budget I totally get that! There’s lots of awesome products out there and I don’t use PCA exclusively for that exact reason. I usually stock up only a couple times a year because a tiny bit of product goes such a long way.

What are some of your favorite skin care products out there? I’d love to hear! As always, thanks so much for popping by and don’t forget to subscribe to the Cobble&Brick weekly newsletter below! Talk to you soon 🙂
